January 2012 CE Report

CE REPORT

We are coming off a very busy but good holiday season, and we are still on a growth trend. God has been good.
After meeting with our teachers we have come up with a list of possible dates that we lay out for your consideration.
Activity Calendar to be Proposed to Council on Monday January 23^rd, 2012:

CE upcoming possible dates:

January 29^th - Bible Sunday- Presenting Bibles to children
Friday, February 10th 6pm until February 11^th 9am CE sleepover.
February 5^th
Fun-day or bring a friend to church Sunday.
Also CE teacher training 12pm-1pm----VBS meeting 1-2pm
March 4^th 12pm- 1pm Teacher meeting -----VBS meeting 1-2pm
March 18^th 12pm Children’s Ministry spaghetti dinner (to be served by the children)
April 1^st Fun-day or bring a friend to church Sunday.
Also 12pm- 1pm Teacher meeting -----VBS meeting 1-2pm
April 8^th Annual Egg hunt 9:45 am
May 6^th 12pm- 1pm Teacher meeting -----VBS meeting 1-2pm
May 12^th 9am Mother’s Day breakfast served by the children.
June 23^rd- Moving up ceremony for 5^th graders.
VBS Sunday July 21^st- Thursday July 26^th 6pm-8:30pm. (Operation overboard)

April Meeting

Our next meeting will be Monday, April 18 at 7 PM. Please send your committee notes to Gail by Friday, April 15. Include a summary of issues the church council members need to know and use in their planning of church activities and personal lives. See you in the lounge! From March's Meeting: Our last meeting was March 21 at 7:00 PM. We approvede the new mission statement "Empowered by God, Trinity church will follow Jesus, develop disciples and transofrm the world" and also accepted the core value statement. We reviewed actions discussed at the visioning meeting. Sheila Rader shared the purpose and activities of the "Welcoming and Outreach committee." The SPRC recommended making Pastor Nate 1/2 time and upcoming actions and events surrounding the arrival of Pastor Larry Baird. The meeting minutes are posted on the blog. The next vision meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 7 from 9 AM until noon.

March Meeting

Next meeting will be March 21 at 7:00 pm. We will discuss the mission statement in hopes of approving it for use. We will also review actIons require from the visioning meeting of march 12. See the attached vision mtg minutes. We will also review a committee responsibilities list.The next vision meeting is schedule meeting is May 7 9 am till noon.

The last church council meeting was February 21. The responsibility's of the church council were reviewed. The meeting minutes are posted. The vision meeting met March 12. Pastor Larry Baird met with the group as mission statement, core values and future vision was discussed.

For Next Time

Our next council meeting is January 24th, not the 17th as was previously scheduled! This meeting will be (at least partly) a special charge conference and we will be voting on a new trustee and approving the 2011 budget (in addition to normal business). Also, don't forget about our planning meeting Saturday 1/8 at 9 am! At this planning meeting we will discuss the future of our church and how we will get there- specifically, we'll be talking about our mission and developing a mission statement.
