Trinity’s Visioning Continues
On January 8th a group of members met for the third meeting to establish a vision for Trinity. The first meeting in September 2010 discussed the needs and concerns the church faces. We recognized that the major priorities were to grow the worship attendance, make disciples and develop leaders and to nurture young families, youth and children.
In November the group worked to establish Trinity’s core values. We also asked the congregation to share their core values in the form of a top 5 values from a provided list.
At the January 8th meeting there was continued discussion of the core value surveys. The results indicated that Trinity church and its member’s value:
- Supporting Christian education and Godly leadership
- Nurturing people and families through active fellowship and community
- Enthusiastic worship and praise with bible centered preaching and teaching
- Being involved with a well organized laity in community and mission action
- And we desire to grow by making disciples here.
We then started to review our current mission statement to see if it could be improved. We looked at a number of alternative mission statements and none jumped out as a favorite. This will be the starting point for our next meeting on February 12 from 9:00am to noon. Please come and join the fun and pain of developing the mission statement and then beginning to dream about our vision of how we see God working through Trinity to grow Christians.
We will continue on a monthly basis to forge the future vision for our church and develop the strategy and actions we need to take to remain vital and healthy
